Most women, if not all women want to appear beautiful, and there is nothing wrong with that. The pressure to be physically attractive to a potential husband can be overwhelming and costly. The world is fixated on physical beauty and youth and it is unforgiving particularly towards women.
This doesn’t mean you must wear sackcloth or that you can’t have fun with makeup like a girlie girl should. It’s more of a “less is more” kind of thing. They are not harmful, just don’t idolize them. We must read with understanding.
Proverbs 31:22 NIV
She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple.
However, godliness is also attractive and outlasts physical beauty. It is what God values and the right kind of potential husband will too. If he strives to be like Jesus, he will value the things Jesus does.
1 Peter 3:3-4 NIV
Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.
Proverbs 31:30 NIV
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
Seek first after your Heavenly Father and what He wants you to accomplish for His kingdom. He is well aware of the desires of Your heart as He put them there. He created the institution of marriage and all that He created is good and He wants you to have good things.
Matthew 6:33 NIV
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Psalm 37:4 NIV
Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Proverbs 13:21 NIV
Trouble pursues the sinner, but the righteous are rewarded with good things.
In addition he calls a wife a good thing, so He will reward some righteous unmarried man out there with you!
Proverbs 18:22 KJV
Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the Lord .
Trust Him and work hard at shutting out unreasonably worldly expectations.
If you don’t believe this ask God to help your unbelief.
Mark 9:23-24 NIV
“ ‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.” Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”
