When you pour water in a cup, the water level rises until it reaches the brim.  At that point, the cup can no longer contain more water, so if more water is poured there will eventually be an overflow of water out of the cup.   The overflow is when the contents pour out or spill out.  When there is an overflow, the surroundings are affected.  In other words, everything in close proximity will get wet.  Your inner being can be likened to a cup that holds either healthy or unhealthy contents.  It’s only a matter of time until what[...]
You Are Loved, You Are Important and You Have Purpose! Guest Blog by Kim Gwanzura
I remember when I was teen, I would imagine what my life would be like when I became an adult. I would always say, “I will get married at 25, have my twins at 27 (1 girl and 1 boy) and adopt 2 more children at 29 (maybe another set of twins).” Lol, I really had my life planned out. Oh, but life had a different path for me. My 30th birthday is coming up soon, September 15th to be specific for those who want to send PayPal cash gifts, lol. I remember turning 29 and feeling depressed at how[...]
Series : What can we, as helpers to our husbands, learn from the lives of wives in the Bible Part 2 b : Eve (Adam’s wife)
DON’T LET THE DEVIL DECEIVE YOU INTO DEFILING YOUR MARRIAGE BED ?Hebrews 13:4 NIV “Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.”? ?Hebrews 13:4 KJV “Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.”? Defilement of the marriage bed begins long before the sexual act of adultery.  The devil will deceive you into defilement which brings destruction and death to your marriage, because that is his mandate,  if you do not test the spirit and the heart behind[...]
Wifehood and Motherhood
Recently I had a question about how to cope with house work and very young kids under the age of three as well as balancing being a great mom and a great wife at the same time. I attempt to answer as a wife and mother of three and all their extra murals and social lives. It can be a challenge if I am not wise with the time God has given me and He thought 24hrs in a day (including sleep and rest) was all I needed to be the Proverbs 31 woman I choose to be.  Balancing being[...]
You have a stain on your shirt: Red Flags! Guest blog by Kim Gwanzura
Imagine you’re at an event and every time you walk up to someone their face changes, (and not in a good way). This happens a few more times and you start thinking maybe something is wrong with your appearance. You head over to the bathroom and realize you have a huge stain on your shirt. Embarrassing, right?!? It’s easy to spot the stain on someone else’s shirt than it is on our own. I started off the process of writing this article by asking different groups of people who are mostly single, in a “situationship” or dating what would be[...]
Matthew 8:23-25 NIV [23] Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. [24] Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. [25] The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” [26] He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. [27] The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey[...]
Series: Everyday lessons, for helper wives, from the Proverbs 31 woman Part 4 : Marriage does not limit you, it still allows you to become all God has called you to
Often certain world views, that fight for the empowerment of women, will give you the impression that marriage, God’s way as set out in His Word, will limit you in one form or another. Why would our Heavenly Father who is love and who, because of His immense love for us, sacrificed His own Son, Jesus for us, create the beautiful institution of marriage to limit and oppress women? You see when we don’t fully understand the beautiful purpose of marriage according to how God intended, we can easily be fooled into believing something completely opposite. When we do marriage[...]

A prayer for our bodies in marriage because our spouse has authority over it.
Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for the beautiful verses where you have given authority of our bodies to each other. 1 Corinthians 7:4-5 NIV [4] The wife does not have authority over her own body but yields it to her husband. In the same way, the husband does not have authority over his own body but yields it to his wife. [5] Do not deprive each other except perhaps by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of[...]
Recently having been at the coast, spending time just marveling at the magnificent beauty of the ocean, water has been on my mind. Water has many essential uses, one being that it cleans. It washes away dirt and blemishes, even stubborn stains after being washed repeatedly. In the same way God’s Word, who is also Jesus, washes us. We are cleansed when we receive Him and the written Word. We must read it, hear it, study to understand it, allow The Holy Spirit to reveal its truth to us and apply it to our lives daily. Just like we need[...]
