We dream of the perfect day, the perfect gown, the perfect venue, the perfect wedding, the perfect honeymoon and we wait and wait and wait for the perfect budget.
God wants us to get married that is why He says it is not good for man to be alone in Genesis 2:18 NIV.
In 1 Corinthians 7 NIV the Apostle Paul talks about it being better to remain unmarried because marriage brings trouble. He is not saying we mustn’t marry as that would be contradicting Genesis 2:18. He is just saying it is ok not to marry if you so choose. We should not be pressured into marriage if we are not ready or we don’t want to get married at all. However, he also adds that if you are going to burn with passion and be tempted to commit sexual sin, then it is better for you to get married. Marriage is the solution to this burning passion.
1 Corinthians 7:8-9 NIV
 Now to the unmarried and the widows I say: It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I do. But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion.
We all know sexual intimacy outside of marriage is wrong according God’s Word. God detests sexual sin and it is abundantly clear throughout His Word, and we as believers should detest it too.
1 Corinthians 6:18-20 NIV
 Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body.  Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;
 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.
So if you are ready for marriage in a godly committed relationship and immaterial things like “not having enough money for a perfect wedding” is holding you back, rather begin the correct process to get married, like pre-marital counseling and so forth and get married with the money you have, even if a smaller wedding, instead of burning with passion with the risk of committing sexual sin. This example is more often than not, a very difficult one as many women dream of the perfect wedding from the time they are little girls.
You can always have the perfect wedding some time later, after you are married, when you have saved up enough money. There is nothing stopping you.
Wherever you are on this journey, remember that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ, so no man can condemn you. Allow the Holy Spirit to convict you of the right thing to do.
